    Good job.
Homonyms are quite the wonderful thing, aren't they? :)

I don't swear a lot, and I don't swear unnecessarily (I don't think), i.e. in the company of older people or strangers, but I do. I think it's hilarious. They're just words. That and the fact that I make fun of everything and everyone (even myself) so yeah. I like to use it to place emphasis on certain things and add humor to others, so... well, yeah.

I retain obscenities in the comic because that's how I think a lot of people talk when they don't think anyone that can judge them is listening to them. I read articles about shit like the President talking smack about some reporter without realizing a mic is on and it makes me think that everyone has a kind of vulgar side to them. Everybody has an inner Frank.

    Something like that.

Words are tools, and swearing simply adds variety to what you use. Profanity can portray strong emotions or simply make comments hilarious. I do swear, but one of my pet peeves is posers who use swearing like that's all they have in their vocabulary--they swear just to swear, and it's idiotic. It's like using the same verb over and over again... "The slapping door hit me in the slapping face, and I was like, "SLAP! What the slap just happened?!" Yeah, kid… You're cool.

    End rant.

    ^ I like this Junior Member.. =P

I think most people do do it just like Insanity said, to try to be "cool" or fit in with their friends.. its pointless. Although i completely understand swearing if you get injured.. say you stub your toe? Every single swear word imaginable is then alright
They were not courageous because they did not feel fear; but because they fought through that fear to save a man who they did not know.

I'm just intimidated by insanity's avatar... Every post I've read by you so far has led me to believe I'm at gun point.

But there are a variety of reasons why people swear... It's difficult to really say WHY people swear, because you'd have to understand why words ARE words, and how and why people use them.

Then again, I'm just one teenager. My point of view is different from all of yours.

Idk I've been swearing since middle school, and now it seems that I mainly swear when pissed off. I agree with Insanityisoverrated. What I have to say is pretty much what she says. Besides that,I also swear because once you make a habit of something,it's hard to stop.

I feel like swearing is expressionism.
I mean, it also can be used as descriptions.
I don't swear unless necessary to invoke strong emotions.
Normally, in normal conversation, I find that swearing just hangs in the air. esp if it's at an inappropriate time.
I find that in swearing, you achieve basically nothing. It's just like a way of venting, but I don't like that way. I prefer to go to the gym and kickbox.
